If it's called Super Mario Bros. Wii: Retro Remix, I think people would understand that it originated from NSMBW, and we don't need the "new" to be a part of it Or it could be a Wii homebrew game such as Super Mario War Wii. It could be anything Mario on the Wii. If you are an average user on a large forum, such as Wiiso, and you see a topic called "Super Mario Bros Wii: Retro Remix", what would you assume it is? I'd assume it was a wii homebrew game honestly. "New Super Mario Bros: Retro Remix" or even "New Super Mario Bros Wii: Retro Remix" would be clear to anyone following the Wii homebrew scene that its probably a NSMBW hack.

| Have you tried rebuilding the fst.bin with giantpunes fst.bin creator tool. If it works with sneek di I can't see why it wouldn't work with usb loader. | |

What do you mean by "the NEW is overused"..? Newer Super Mario bros... New Super Mario brothers Extreme... New Super Mario World... New Super Mario brothers the lost levels... ect.. there are all these projects that people have made with "new" its not original any more, not that it was cuz nintendo thought of it...

| Looking good! A few small things could use improvement, but that looks nice with the custom background.
I would cut down on the amount of bushes/ flowers, and put them in bunches like they are in SMB. Also, maybe cut the ground down to 2 tiles, although it would make the "Press 2 to Start" harder to see, so maybe not.
Just figured something out. Some people were having problems with this not working, here's why and a fix:
The fst.bin file, from what I can tell, lists every file in the ISO and its filesize. So, when you edit the titlescreen logo, and it's a larger filesize than the original, it throws the game off. One fix was to edit the fst.bin.
Here's a better fix: On the ISO, the titlescreen graphic is a .tpl. So, you extract it, convert it to a PNG, edit it however, then convert it back. If using TplMii.exe to convert it back, there is an option of high, moderate, or low quality. Setting it to high quality doubles the filesize. Setting it to medium makes it the same filesize are the original, but the transparancies are messed up. Setting it to low quality should get the graphic to look fine, and be the same filesize as the original.

| The retro remix logo did not cause any problems for me when using partitionbuilder to create the new partition file.
Because of having problems to create a working isoi n the beginning, I also tried to use Wiiscrubber. I had a version with every file replaced one by one and there, everything worked, except from the two nighttime background files. But the overworld backgrounds are bigger files than the original ones, title is same filesize, If I remember correctly, well, but it worked. Boot.bin/partition.bin also did not work via wiiscrubber (changing save slot), but as said rest was ok.
Only main problem, I found is that Wii Backup Manager causes NSMBWii to crash randomly when the game has been renamed in the window where you load in your isos.
So I just have to wonder why this worked so good. When you say, the game does not accept bigger file sizes, or does wiiscrubber correct the fst.bin? And what's with partitionbuilder? Does it creates corrected fst.bin content?

| Yes, Wiiscrubber updates the fst.bin when it re-builds the partiton. I believe there was an error with this in one version of wiiscrubber but it has been fixed in the latest version. | |

I believe there was an error with this in one version of wiiscrubber but it has been fixed in the latest version. My Wiiscrubber version is Wiiscrubber 1.4, replacing the whole partition works good with it. Is there a newer version of it? I newer checked if there is a new one. Partitionbuilder is Version 1.2.

| The titlescreen that you can download from this topic was made incorrectly, and would cause the game to crash randomly. I figured out what we did wrong, and posted a fixed version in the download center. This was all a long while before you joined the site though, so you should have the correct version vbusfan. | |

alright but it doesnt look that great im ok at editing images but im not great and i couldnt think of anything but before i post it i have 2 ideas for the dvd template thingy the first one shows the "new super mario bros wii retro remix" logo at the top and the background is the same background on your banner. the second one looks similar to the official dvd template for the official game but the heads are 8-bit instead of 3d and instead of it saying at the bottom "new super mario bros wii" it says "new super mario bros wii retro remix". to be honest i like my second idea better but its your choice
