| I see that some people have already started on the Lost Levels. What I'd like to know is what is already DONE, so that we don't have people making the same stuff. I don't have time atm to read through all the topics to see who has what/reserved what, but we need a master list. Post here for me if you could please, and I'll update this post with the info. Before starting any new levels please have a read through the Level Making Guide it contains notes on a number of things learned while editing the SMB levels. Lost Levels Progress Grid (finished levels in grey, blue in progress/reserved) 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4 4-1, 4-2, 4-3, 4-4 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 5-4 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4 8-1, 8-2, 8-3, 8-4
9-1, 9-2, 9-3, 9-4
A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4 B-1, B-2, B-3, B-4 C-1, C-2, C-3, C-4 D-1, D-2, D-3, D-4

| Started World 2 but later realized it was taken. Oops, Toe Stepper here lol. I'm starting on World 6 in spare time since SMB1 is still in the testing and building stages, that is the focus so far but world 6 will be coming soon! Need a lil help with making tiles and for some reason i cant figure out how to activate my boss for 02-04 it is weird. IDK, i'll figure it out as soon as i can and get it posted | |

| Ok I have put you both down for world 6. It is up to you guys to decide how you want to split up the work.

| Its cool man, no worries, we can help each other on it if your down to. We're all here to help each other anyway, so if you want to pick 2 levels from world six to start on i'll do the other two and we can fix each others and test them (and of course the great folks on here). 1 off topic question? Are we cool to let people from other sites (mainly GBAtemp.net) to test our levels and give feedback also? If not let me know and i'll make sure i dont. Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posts merged ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - hamradio wrote:

Totally man thanks. Noob question, what program would i use to mod my Textures? I'm new to this Reggie thing, as most of us probably are, but am aiming to master it and start a project in here once everything is done and we are out of beta stage on both games at hand. what are we doing about boss levels and world 9 of SMB1, man i'm asking too much at once sorry just eager to learn and get some progress out of myself here.

| It's ok to get other people to help just make sure you credit them. Also make sure you post it in the SMB remake thread http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=218839, don't make a new thread on gbatemp about individual levels. | |

Ill just link them back to the page with all postings for a specific game (whether it be SMB1 or Lost Levels) Thanks for quick reply.

| Updated the grid with canadax21 new one. A number of reservations have been revoked due to lack of progress. If you are still planning on doing a reserved level please post and you can re-reserve it. | |

- sorry guys i'm new here (first post)
but I was wondering if there were any levels left open, or anything in the project in general that needs doing
i can create levels, music, graphics, (the last two I don't know how to put in the game, but i can still make)
so if there's anything that needs doing, like i mentioned earlier, i'd be more than happy to do it
thanks in adavance Welcome seriestoo2! Glad to see a new face on the team. How skilled are you at making graphics? Also, what method are you using to load the levels?

as for graphics, I have been making logos and stuff for 3 or 4 years and have quite a bit of experience with Photoshop, etc. I also have a few other graphically-knowledgeable friends that would be happy to help me.
Nince Could you make a new cover art for us? The other ones don't have the new logo.

| Naw, I think the other cover arts look amazing. We can easily contact the guy that made them and have him insert the new logo if we need to. He has made the entire GUI for several programs, and there's nothing really wrong with the box art's we already have.
You can't make custom sprites by any chance, can you?

| Well.. I'm not really skilled with graphics, I'm better at technical things. If you made graphics, I could get them into the game, for example. There are several sprites that would be nice to have, but that we don't really *need*. For example.. the pink coral in the water levels were taken from Super Mario Bros All-Stars. It would be nice to have custom coral that looked more like the New Super Mario Bros style. They look ok in that picture, but in-game they look noticeably out of place. I think it would be rather difficult, however, for someone to make a new graphic that looked professional AND had the same look as New Super Mario Bros graphics.. | |

| I believe each 'block' in Reggie is 24 x 24. Here's the underwater sprite sheet we are using, as an example: Here's the tools you may need:Wart 2.8 Puzzle 0.6 - If you open a NSMBW ISO with wiiscrubber, expand the Stage folder, then expand the Texture folder.
- You should see files like Pa0_jyotyu.arc, Pa0_jyotyu_chicka.arc, etc.
- These are the tilesets. Extract them, then open them in either Wart or Puzzle. Both are tileset editors.
- Once you have the tileset open, you can extract the graphic it uses as a .png. Edit it however, and import the graphic back into the .arc you got it from.
- Adding new objects and getting the collisions right can be a bit confusing, but don't worry about it.
- Also, some animated items (like the [?] blocks and things) need more work to replace. Haven't messed with that yet, but I know its possible.
If you want, just edit the graphic and I can put it back into the game. Feel free to suggest and make whatever custom graphics you feel could help this project! Or.. just make custom graphics for your own pleasure and testing fun. Hope this post wasn't too confusing >_<

| Here's the original SNES graphic we took that from:
http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/supermariobros/fulltileset.png
Also, notice the yellow coral in the NSMBW sheet I posted. Maybe you could use that as reference? I don't know.
If you don't want to work on this, its fine. There are a few other things that could be done too. If you play through the levels and see anything that seems odd or have any ideas for alternate graphics, feel free to work on it instead ^_^

| I'm sorry but if you (seriestoo2) looked in the Worlds A-D topic, I started making that remaining 7 levels. And I'm doing also level testing.
I started with B-02 this week, had to figure out how Reggie works, finally got it, and World B-03 is quite finished, only the enemies have still to be added, then its ready.
So we don't have levels left.
But we have other things left here, i.e. converting and creating custom musics or menu graphics, of this we have only few things ready. You said you can do graphical editing (photoshop) oder music stuff, that is what is missing at most. And I'm not skilled with this things, so I just don't o such stuff.
And what I have to say at the end:
I just created a topic in Worlds A-D area about that I wanted to start with the levels and now I did start with them, but, I don't know why, I didn't notice this topic here. Sorry for that. Or I just forgot to write it here, don't know.

| vbusfan , you are fine. seriestoo2 hasn't logged in since July 13th, so go ahead with the levels you are working on, its not a problem. There are a lot of people that come and reserved levels, then never produced anything. Btw, the screenshots of the levels you are making look good, keep up the good work | |
