| Hamradio and I have been looking into making a pff patch already, and it is probably how we will do the final release.
This topic IS NOT a final release, or even close to a final release. It is for us only.
Going to each individual topic to download the levels individually was a huge pain. Reading through half-a-dozen topics to figure out which tilesets are needed is too much work. Figuring out how to rename it all is also a pain.
Putting all of the links in one place like this, and trimming down on the amount of links, makes everything easier. It took us HOURS to move the flagpole 2 blocks for each level, and update all 32 posts. Well, now we could just edit the levels, update the 8 links, and post a single update in the change log. The only purpose of the download center is to make accessing everything easier, and is not for the public or a final release.

| I have made changes throughout almost the entire game, including minor enemy locations, rotation directions of firebars, updating all the cloud areas, plus a bunch of behind-the-scenes updates to make future updates to levels a lot easier if needed.
Also, backgrounds in levels are fixed for the ones that use our new night time and overworld backgrounds
worlds updated 28 July, 2010 links in first post

| Beautiful. I'll update the main post in a few days when I can get time to play through all of the new levels. I'm planning a major update to the water levels sometime as well.
Is there no World 8? | |

I've been so flooded with stuff. I can't wait to get time to test these out.

| Ok, I'm playing through the levels now. So far, they look like a massive improvement. I can see several of the things you changed, and I like it. Much better choice of background for some of the levels (especially 1-3). The fireballs in the castle levels have been toned down. As I see things that need to be fixed, or mistakes, or anything, I'll post it here. (I'll be referring to levels based on their spot in the game, not their NES names) 02-01: - The half-piles of snow on the 'stairs' and stuff looks a bit strange. I think this is the only stage that has this.. 02-03: - Something about this stage looks strange. I think its the clouds. While the NES game had clouds, All-Stars had just the nighttime sky. I think the sky would look rather bland alone though.. idk, just something to point out. 02-22: - the 3rd firebar is on the wrong layer, it's behind the stone pillar for some reason. - This castle has a different background than the other 2 I've played so far. Maybe they should all be the same for consistency? 02-24: - doesn't really matter, but we could add the floating lava particles to the first part of the stage too 03-01: - Should I edit the background to remove the hills, or change the texture on them so that they aren't checkered..? or leave it as is? 03-ghost house (forgot the number): - Several of the firebars are on the wrong layer Taking a break for now, gotta go do some homework. Post back what you think, new links, or w/e. I should be able to play some more a bit later tonight.. hopefully | |

I'll update levels as soon as I can Whats really nice is having someone else that can edit the levels and make improvements. I'm ok at Reggie, but you're a lot better. A lot of the stuff you fixed is what has been really bugging me, I really appreciate it. Its also really nice not having to update 32 threads anymore! Remember updating every post after we moved the flagpole 2 blocks? That was crazy. Its so much nicer having everything in one place.

| Yeah, definitely makes things a lot easier I started working on the Lost Levels section of this as well However, due to recent events, I decided to make the download center only visible to members of the team, rather than any member of the forum Having everything on one place makes it a lot easier for other people to steal our work | |

| Well, I'm playing through a few more levels. Will post anything I find. Again, these are the filenames, not NES level names. 03-02:- At the very end of the stage, there should be a small tree next to the castle. - 5-2 Map (NES) - 5-2 map (All-Stars) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03-21 AND 03-22 (ghost house and first castle): - When I was numbering the stages, this part confused me. - In this world, you encounter 3 stages, then the ghost house and castle, then two stages, and the second castle. I numbered them like this: - NES World 5 = the first 3 stages and the ghost house. - NES World 6 = the first castle, the two stages, and the second castle. Do you think it should be changed to: - NES World 5 = the first three stages and the castle - NES World 6 = the ghost house, two stages, and second castle. - Pretty much, switching the ghost house and first castle (NES 5-4 & NES 6-1) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03-04 AND 03-05:- 03-05 is currently unaccessable, if you are playing through the levels with a new file. - Hamradio made a version of the level that fixed the problem here. - His version of the level is really, really old. It doesn't even use the right tiles for the underwater part. - CanadaX21, could you recreate the changes he made on the newest version of this level? - Looks like he changed the flag to the special flag, and added a new area, along with blocks pointing to the first pipe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03-05- NES map and SNES map - Why are some platforms grey, and others gold? Even in the black/white NES level, none of the platforms are grey. - Black/white tileset has many, many tiles that are out of place O.O ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03-24- I could be wrong, but I think you toned down the fireballs on some of the other castles - This castle still has way to many fireball spawns. Walls of 3 fireballs is just too many IMO. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04-01- OMG Bullet Bills O.O 04-22- The pool of lava should be divided. - Here's what I mean: link | |

There was some guy named jsonthegreat who was on wiiso saying he needed help on his project of remaking SMB and SMB: LL that he had been working on for a few months. The way he was saying things sounded fishy to me so I offered help in order to get access to his levels. I opened the levels up in reggie and saw from the "level information" that these were all our levels, and that he just added star coins. I called him out on it, he tried to deny it, but I finally got him to take down the links. I made a topic here about him stealing our work, but deleted it once we resolved the issue. You can also see in the wiiso thread that we both removed a bunch of our posts This was my original reason to start editing every one of our levels, as now, even if someone deletes the level information, I will be able to figure out if they stole our levels or not

03-05 - NES map and SNES map - Why are some platforms grey, and others gold? Even in the black/white NES level, none of the platforms are grey. - Black/white tileset has many, many tiles that are out of place O.O
Something about changing the mountain tileset screws certain tiles up, so I switched a few tiles to make it work. 03-24 - I could be wrong, but I think you toned down the fireballs on some of the other castles - This castle still has way to many fireball spawns. Walls of 3 fireballs is just too many IMO.
Yeah, I did slow everything down, these should be fixed now :p -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
04-01 - OMG Bullet Bills O.O
Yeah, too bad there's not a way to slow them down
04-22 - The pool of lava should be divided. - Here's what I mean: link
The pool's been divided, I also updated the way the looping works There were just too many exits before lol

Probably something to do with how some aspects of the tilesets are hardcoded into the game engine. Did you make a new version of your tileset? If so, head over to Custom Content and post it! Excellent job with fixing all of the things I mentioned. This is working out pretty well, really polishing the levels that we have (which were already pretty well polished before). I absolutely can't wait to play through this latest batch and post feedback. EDIT: Just to make sure I'm not playing anything old, I'm deleting the files I have and downloading all the latest ones. I went back to page 1 to download worlds 1 - 4, and the world 4 link isn't working anymore :/

| Work is still being done guys. CanadaX21 and I have a decent list of improvements that we've been working on, and the levels have been updated to reflect some of those (Thanks to CanadaX21 whose been updating the levels to implement the ideas). Expect some retextured and edited objects to be posted in the Custom Content area sometime this week, along with maybe some more level updates here. | |
