*Haven't placed them inside the extracted all files that are on the root needs to be placed inside extracted and then wherever they need to be* the new 2-24 i done needs the Pa0_jyotyu_P tileset from the root of the mega folder aswell

I'll organize the folder on mega once its final, I think it looks good the way it is
main thing is i was able to get from 1-1 to 8-24

 
"Backgrounds and a few levels i wasn't able to complete" - what's this part mean? Some of the backgrounds are messed up?
 
The music works? Sweet, CanadaX21 must've fixed it up since the last time I tested. You can add whatever you like, but I think the overworld should stay a remix of original overworld, underground a remix of underground, etc. Using, say, SMB3 music on SMB1 stages is kinda weird. Though for places like the overworld that don't have music in original games, I think picking music from random games is cool.
 
I was thinking the other day - isn't there a stage over a bridge with jumping fish? And hey jump in pairs of two? Feel free to drop it to one. I think there's two fish spawns for the same area. For some reason I had the hardest time with that level, but maybe it was just me.
 
For 2-24, I think Newer team had a cheat that fixed the stage that we used with Riivolution. Is that right? If so, I can prob take the cheat and make it work with ISOs.
 
Invisible toad houses.. I'll poke around and see if I can find the file we edited. I believe we used szsmodifier to delete the 3D model. Sometimes you can remove pieces of the model - thats how we removed the doors from the castles too. Where the custom castles in the files I posted?
 
I'll be honest - I totally haven't tried out your builds yet. Been really busy with life, but it sounds like you're making awesome progress and I'm kinda excited to try it myself to see all the changes.

ALSO - since you guys are using ISOs, check out Download Center > Reqion Specific files. There's some stuff in there that make the game use a seperate save files, but don't work with Riivolution, so it wasn't included in the dropbox folder.

What i meant by main things was like the overall list in my last post
that was one of the first things i done focused on reaching 8-24 from 1-1
while fixing a few issues like i mentioned

music works fine haven't although havent tested the fast tracks but theres never been an occasion where theres little time remaining so its probably okay but may be still worth testing

about 2-24 i did a new one which i think is good enough better than the last one
try and you'll see (you walk a bit to the right mario enters pipe early (not where the pipe actually is) then its the castle level)

like i mentioned in my last post the files on the root (not in the extracted folder)
needs to placed inside so if you havent already download the pack then the files then replace

overall its probably ready

I don’t want to sound whining but the hosting for files MEGA sux big time. I've being trying to download files since yesterday and every time it hangs before it is finished. In order to get something downloaded I have to select small chunks and keep my fingers crossed it would be finished before hanging. Tried both firefox and chrom.

Look forward to try the game.

So, I peaked at the cobkinopio files.
 
cobKinopio is the speech bubble with toads face on it that pops up when toad is kidnapped in a level.
cobKinopio1up/Red/Star are the different colored overworld toad houses.
 
Delete our custom ones, and put the original files from the disc on there, and they should show up again.

faith genesis raven, can you make a folder of only modified files, for Riivolution users? I wanna download and test it out.

EDIT: Also, how familiar are you with hex editors?

Sure I'll try to sort that later on at some point

With hex editors depends on what, like I've followed guides on how to do things
but im not a wiz with them tell what you need and i'll see if i could do it

Do you assemble ISO file?
Can you please provide details on how to assemble iso from downloaded files.

PS. level 6-3 (if I remember correctly) is not modified it is original from NSMB.

there are a few original levels because there no levels to fill them

couldve with lost levels but the every level would need to be changed to have star coins (and special exits if needed)
plus a few toad houses so in the end wasn't worth it plus point was for this is to like the original game

did i notice in the pack of only modified files the few original nsmb levels are in still there

there plenty of guides to make iso/wbfs
i use partition builder 1.1 and wii scrubber 1.40 the next degeneration
*remember when your making a new partition with partition builder don't overwrite an old one*

once Vampire test and decides on the final release it'll be released on riivolution
and then iso wbfs will probably follow on this site here anyways

Raven, I'm totally cool with you releasing riivolution, iso, wbfs, or whatever format you'd like, and on any sites of your choosing. As long as your changes are merged into the main project here, and not released seperately, I don't mind
 
Thanks for posting the seperate files, makes it much easier to riivolution test. No music is fine, I'll pick it out of the other link.
 
faust, blackscreens when loading levels sometimes means a custom tileset is missing. Like, the stage uses a tile that isn't available in the tileset. I'll update the first post with the riivolution xml we used, but it might be broken with all the changes raven has made.

Can either of you run Dolphin? Do you know if it has a RAM watcher? If so, boot up retail nsmbw, and let me know what data is at memory offset 0x80001800. Just post like 5 - 10 bytes worth. If you don't know how, it's cool.

EDIT: Raven, do you happen to have the latest SMB2 world 9-D you could upload seperately too? I think the ones I have are super-old.

but have no idea how to turn it on XD unless if it got renamed or removed etc...

@Raven - I got a friend to do it, and it didn't work like I thought it would. Oh well. If you want to see the developer tools, I forgot that you have to right click > properties the shortcut, and for target, add -d at the end. I think it was -d.. or, you can open dolphin from command prompt with -d option too.

@alex31997 - in the first post, download the link labeled "Latest ISO". It has all of SMB1 and SMB2 bundled together.

Worlds 1-4 should be from SMB1.
Worlds 5-8 should be from SMB2:LL.

The first world from New Super Mario Bros Wii, should contain both world 1 and 2 from SMB1. The original NES games only had 4 levels per world.

Doesn't the retail game cut the music off when going to the player select screen? May be hard coded or something.
