Hi Thanks for this pack.
If I use wiiscrubber to put the files in an iso NTSC-U, this great game work? Or is this a wrong method?

I applied all files by wiiscrubber. The game crashes on the screen with the message "This is a free, unofficial modification ..."
At the Dolphin emulator does not crash. But on the PC, the game stay with the 5% rate, unplayable.

GoogleTradutorOff ... sorry

I know how to build it to the WBFS or ISO, I use a tool to make it. I am fixing some bugs(Enemy's start location, according the 1985 Mario ROM's Map Model Tool) and some backgroup's position) and music volume problem in this package. I will release the better version in this BBS.If you have the newest package, give it to me ASAQ. I fixing bug base on this package now. Thank you.

Alright, I'm going to need someone's help on this:

In our group dropbox, there's TWO builds. I have no idea which is the most modern. Anyone wanna test them and report the differences? Also curious if the link above is the same as either of these.

Retro Remix

Super Mario - Retro Remix

Riivolution XML

We did some experimenting, so certain things might be weird.

Have to say looks great

although in some later levels the hills background look a bit fuzzy i've been changing it to the same as the earlier ones 104

also fixed a few levels and done minor edits to others i'll be uploading the files to mega soon but first

just a few questions i notice in one of the builds that the sledge hammer bro is replaced by bowser and is in tower of w1 up to castle of w2 after its the fire bro
looks cool pity you can kill him with one fire flower hit etc...
anyways so should it be all bowser or fire bro,
only issue may be that bowser would be too tall for one or two castles that it would be impossibile to jump over him
so maybe it would be better if its fire bro and maybe it would be a good idea to have bowser in the final castle of smb1 & 2 so therefor he features

next i notice that world 9 and a-d of smb2 aren't in any of the packages have they been dropped
mean it could get organized in some of the free levels like w9 and few other original levels + a few toad houses that could fill them up with w9 and a-d of smb2

last question would you want toad blocks, star coins and special exits, i know its important for it to stay as close to original as possibile
but i also think it would be good for it to adapt to the wii plus the exits and star coins would give access to w9 and more levels

let me know thanks

I think the hills in the early levels were an experiment. If you like them more, feel free to use throughout the whole project.

I was experimenting with Bowser, but never got it working 100%. It's up to you if you want to use it or not. I'm totally cool with removing him and using all hammer bros. No hacks involved, I think I used Brawlbox or some tool to export the Bowser model, import it into the sledgebros, then renamed the parts and messed with it until the animations worked. I wanna say the folder with that Bowser was the overall better version between the two links I posted.

The special worlds aren't in the toad houses? We found a video on youtube where someone was really confused about toad houses having levels, maybe one of us removed it, I don't remember. You're free to put them anywhere you'd like. You're also free to use marduk666's SMB Special and SM Land levels somewhere if you'd like.

Ideally, we wanted to stay closer to the original and not include star coins. Sucks that we can't access world 9, but we were hoping for the world map editor to be released and solve that problem. I don't mind toad blocks as much, since they don't mess with the level design. I guess special exits are also fine as long as you using existing pipes or something to lead to them. I do like the idea of having secrets sprinkled throughout the game.

EDIT: Updated the post above with a link to our Riivolution xml. I seem to remember it's nothing fancy.

Do you have any of the w9 a-d levels because, I do have some myself but they may be outdated
But I check the old ones i have and test them again but if there's newer ones those would be better

Doesn't look like I have them :/

The progress here was the last progress made to them, I don't think me or CanadaX21 worked on them at all after that. I sent CanadaX21 a message to see if he has anything newer than that.

https://mega.co.nz/#F!S5wQiRYb!ToX_u3CNR6tHAr1RULNlKw

Just uploaded the files tested from 1-1 to 8-24 all works now no problems or issues
fixed a few things but havent placed the w9 a-d lost levels yet

to download everything right click the folder extracted then save as zip

there's a few levels in that are original like 4-38, 6-3, 8-24
any plans with those ?

No clue about the extra levels. Maybe they're from Mario Land or Mario Deluxe? 4-38 sounds like the credit stage we never finished.

I meant the original nsmbwii because atm they're the wii levels

Would you like if I make a simple level just to list credits then?
If you list them, I'll make something then

I know Lost Levels aren't currently in but maybe its the best that they're not because it would either need w9 but then w9 needs star coins, toad house but it would consume most of them, what way do you want the ll levels to be sorted if t all?

havent removed bowser yet from the earlier levels like i said not sure if he fits right
I'll leave the final decision to you if you say remove him then i'll remove him.
just wondering like is it possibile to make him slighty smaller and it would take 3 hits to kill him

Anyways, I think its good enough for release to post on rvlution
Once these few things are sorted/decided on

OH, I thought you meant they were 'original', as in not remakes. Hmm, that's a good question about what to do with them. We should probably replace them with something.

With so little people involved now, it'd be hard to go back and credit all the people who helped out :/

By Lost Levels, worlds 1-8 are in NSMBW 5 - 8, right? Just the bonus worlds are missing? I'll leave their placement up to you. It does make things easier just leaving them out. If you don't replace the toad houses, I think maybe we should tweak the minigames to only give powerups available in SMB. Maybe.

I wish I could do something with Bowser, but I have no idea how to make him take more damage. I can try the latest version of BrawlBox and see if there's an option to shrink the 3D model.

I'll leave some of these descisions up to you, since you're putting in all the work to finish this up Razz Sorry I'm not much help!

Okay so the bonus levels of smb 2 will be left out because liked we said its easier and better to be left out

Liked I said I like Bowser but when I was testing and looking at the levels
I'm sure he would be too tall for certain castles, he would have to be closer to the size of the fire bro

Well tweaking the mini games is very easy just click on the ? and change the items to whatever, so its possibile

Updated the folder with the levels that replaces bowser with fire bro (on the root atm)

Updated the link added toad houses up to end of w5

propeller --> fire flower
penguin --> ice flower

should i do all worlds leave it like that so if someone found a level difficult near the end then they can use propeller etc... ?

other thing would i think needs to be done is the toad houses back on the world map (some are invisibile)
since theyre not gonna be used as levels anymore

Woah, sorry for the late reply!

Eh, it's up to you. This is 90% your project now, since you're putting all the work in.

Are the toad houses invisable? I forgot about that! If you go into WorldMap, I *think* cobKinopio.arc was the file we edited. Remove it, and all the toad houses should go back to normal. I might be mistaken though, might be one of those other files wih Kinoko in the name. But it's definately in the WorldMap folder.

What kind of state is the music in? Did you swap out for your conversions, or use ours? I seem to remember ours were kinda poorly converted.

I really need to make time and download your latest version. Would jog my memory about all the weird stuff we changed.

EDIT: I added your Mega link to the first post.

Glad to see the project is alive, was very excited to hear there is updated version.  Hopefully when it hits mile stone someone would be able to compile iso file. Most of the people use usb loders not riivolusion. We had to put wii away, my 4y old was spending too much time on it, but I should be able to install/test and leave feedback in couple of weeks.

Hi VampireLordAlucard it might be a good idea to send a newsletter email to all forum members to let everyone know it’s alive and kicking.

I'm glad someone's excited. The NSMBW modding scene is pretty dead, I'm not expecting too many people to download this. But hey, we had files sitting around that never got out, and faith genesis raven was interested in cleaning it up - might as well release anyway!

I'm hardly involved at all, Raven's doing everything at this point. We'll totally release both ISO and Riivolution whenever he's ready. And good idea about sending something out to all the members! Raven, I can send something out now or whenever you make a release, however you'd like it.

EDIT: I added your Mega link to the first post.
I replaced the cobkinopio files all 4 of them but they're still invisible must be another file

Main Things
- Looked at all the packs picked the newest files tested from 1-1 to 8-24
Fixed a few things along the way
Backgrounds and a few levels i wasnt able to complete

- Music its not mine at the moment I can added mine to the folder later, but current one doesnt cut off or anything
I could a combination of the two since there's some tracks in the other packs i like

- I done a new 2-24 Changed the start works better not as glitchy at the start
*Haven't placed them inside the extracted all files that are on the root needs to be placed inside extracted and then wherever they need to be* the new 2-24 i done needs the Pa0_jyotyu_P tileset from the root of the mega folder aswell

I'll organize the folder on mega once its final, I think it looks good the way it is
main thing is i was able to get from 1-1 to 8-24

Strange I made the ISO from the files in the mega folder. I used a pal version of the original NSMBW. Is it same stage files in "Extracted/Files/Stage" as the files placed in root of "Retro Remix FGR" or do I have to replace the files in extracted?
