So With SMB 1 and LL done I was wondering if anyone has looked at creating SMB special Levels, it came out right after the original on PC-88 there's a killer remake for nes emulators. It's cool and it's officially licenced stuff same gfx and everything. Maybe it will give someone something to do.

I found a blog with all the maps except world 8 He said he would post it on another site. I looked but I can't find it. At least there is worlds 1-7 FOUND HERE

So here is my first level ever. It is World 1-1 from SMB Special.
I didn't have all the custom tilesets cause I can't find download center that is talked about all over this fourm. If it makes a difference I will redo the level. Let me know what you think. I tried to make a perfect 1:1 of the original map. I think I did a good job. Already got 1-2 except for the entry exit points. and I need a way to start at a castle and go down the pipe. anyway here you go.

Nice job man Very Happy but 1 thing the entry pointers at the pipes at area 1 are placed wrong and in area 2 was the entry at the pipe wrong too. but for the rest nice job. i love 1:1 remade levels Razz

Sorry about that! We keep the download center hidden from new members so that just anyone that wonders around here cannot access it. When we see that people are making posts and seem interested in the project, especially when they start contributing, we grant them access.

You should be able to see the download center now. The files are grouped up there, so it should be easier to download everything. Also, the levels there are MUCH more up to date than the individual posts. Hope you enjoy them, and let us know what you think!

EDIT: Oh, and I just added a section for you to post levels. Its at the veeeeeerry bottom, sorry!

This is really cool, i'd like to get in on this version if i may as i had no idea it existed...(need to find it and play now!!!) A couple of questions tho.........

1 - If i submit a few levels can someone swap the tilesets and backgrounds to the required ones?

2 - I also noticed that in level 5-2 there is a bit of a tileset clash in that there is a water trap with a pipe in the middle (just before halfway) with the pink coral and also don't the bloopers only work in non locational water? How would this transfer into a wii version?

3 - What do you plan to do regarding the wing and hammer power ups?

I also noticed that on the level submitted above, there are two floating goombas above the star power up (just before the pipe entrance), i have edited this area to reflect the one in the map provided by your link if that's okay?!! I also removed the invisible coin block as the 10 coins can be gained by butt pounding therefore not relocating the block position. Also changed a bit of area 2 to reflect the tiles used in original.

Sure I could use some help. The only version I have actually played was the nes (hack). You said something about hammer and wing. I don't know anything about this. Were those powerups in the game? I did notice a funny symbol on one of the hidden blocks. I made it an Ice Flower so I would know which one it was.

I am almost done with world 1 and have begun world 2 if you would like to work on worlds 3 and 4 that would be great.

You will need to update your tile sets. this is really a must.

I will probobly be able to post several of them tomorrow after I have tested them, I have only known of Reggie's existance for 5days now, so some things are still buggy.

EDIT: For now We should probobly use propeller hat for wing and Ice Flower for the hammer. The punching ghost throws barrels so thats probobly do-able.

Cool. I'll get started on those tomorrow as i'm working 2nite and will upload as soon as i have a full world done this week. I believe VampireLordAlucard has the NES tile sets available so i'll ask nicely and see if i can get them! (I was just being lazy and hoping to keep everything separate from my own mod)

Agreed on the power ups btw and roling barrells are in reggie too. Use the search function and you'll find them....i forget which sprite number right now! Also, what to replace sidesteppers and fighterflies with?

I thought there were some kind of crab creature in reggie, not sure. the flies should prob be those damn ravens or whatever they are. there is also a super star that kills everything I was thinking perfect for a POW block and there is a hudson bee that would give you 8000 points, I would use minimushrooms there just to keep track.

I am in the process of finding a X1 emulator to play this game and get the feel of how these new items worked

On a side note I was thinking of the Ambush/Coin battles it would be nice to put in mario bros. and donkey kong levels for them. Might work, Might not
