MOD EDIT: Do NOT download music from individual threads, please download testing pack HERE
Here are the choices for the bonus area theme. Remember it is important that you choose the music which you believe is best suited for the role of bonus area music. Not which music you like the most.
You must listen to all the tracks before choosing.
You can change your mind and cancel your vote and change it if you wish
Feel free to reply to the topic with your reasons for choosing a particular track. And if you have any other suggestions please reply with a link to the track.

In the nes / famicom versions of SMB 1 & 2, they just used the star music in the bonus areas.
Shouldn't we be using the star music to stay similar to the original?

I'm glad you caught that! I've been wondering the same thing, but I guess it depends on if we are going for the NES or SNES games are our source. From what I've seen, we've been using a little of both, so its a bit confusing.

I've been using the NES / Famicom Maps for all my level remakes, as I was noticing too many mistakes on the all-stars maps
I personally think we should be making a remake of the original, not a remake of a remake

haha, thats a pretty good point about the remake of the remake. Some things we should draw from All-Stars though. Who knows, if they spent more time on the NES game, they might have used unique music for the bonus areas instead of the star music. Just like in All-Stars, how Bowser has his own little music.
idk, hard to decide IMO.
Oh, and I was testing some of the music we picked, and it sounds... weird in-game. Music that sounds awesome on your computer just doesn't sound as good while you're actually playing a game. I've been thinking about going ahead and converting over all of the All-Stars music and adapting the levels to use it as "stand-in" music for now. What do you think?

I'm just downloading all the custom music to hear it myself lol
If it doesn't sound good like you say, I agree that the All-Stars music would be a suitable replacement for now

idk, I'll try it again. Maybe I'll make a set with all of the music we've voted on, and see what other people think of it.
